Tried to do a walk like the shape of Texas.  Longest walk I've done in a while.

Me, Jason & Uncle Tex went west to LaGrange, had Buc-ee's & BBQ; And Beer, Root for Jason & Independence Austin Amber for me & Tex It was fun... 🍺🍖🌭🍔🍺🍺 I persuaded Jason to watch Mallrats en route... and while he enjoyed most of it, the raunchy parts embarrassed him and felt awkward.  Stan Lee laying it on thick, and expressing concern regarding Brody's unhealthy focus on superhero sex organs was hilarious to Jason.  Though he was disappointed Jay & Silent Bob never destroyed the stage.   I never thought about that part... Enjoyed a late lunch at The Back Porch in LaGrange... included Uncle Tex due to the Austin Amber beer..  hee hee... Tex didn't appreciate seekng pork though... Tex made some Soylent Green comments to express his displeasure. After getting back home, i began rewatching Richard Linklater's Before Midnight.  I've had the Jesse experience... when I was younger, I was told I resembled Ethan Hawke & Mark McGrath.....

Wednesday I took my rest day. Back to two miles is 3.39 KM at 41 minutes today. I really wish my phone's GPS would pick up the subtle walks around the neighborhood.

I'm consistently amazed the quality of Jason's artwork. I don't think he necessarily realizes how good he is. But I'm glad he seems to be passionate about it and I want to encourage him to develop his talent without making it into a chore.

Well, I took Uncle Tex and headed to Brenham.  There was a storm, and the BBQ joint I'd wanted to try was sold out when we got there. Still, we had a couple of beers at Brazos Valley Brewing before heading back home to Houston.

Walked 6187 steps,  taking a break before walking home.  Jason is a little bit too tired to get up this morning. That's okay sometimes it's good to walk by myself.

I've spent a lot of time rambling on social media about what I want to do when I'm ready to retire, which may not be for a long time.  The problem with doing that, is it there's always going to be somebody out there who's going to see what you were planning to do, try to do it before you did, and then publish about it. I found that out the hard way a couple of years ago when I had talked about going to Portland to do a craft beer bar tour restaurant tour. Then I had to have surgery, and scuttled that but another Houston-based food slash lifestyle blogger did it and published about it. It was then when I begin to really understand why my great grandparents and parents and grandparents got put out if I or their kids/grandkids talked about something we were thinking about doing.  I was verbally reamed for "telling other people our business."  As a young kid this was very confusing to me. We weren't entrepreneurs and did not own our own business.  I wasn'...
