Need to push back from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other Social Media. Still need to let stuff out. Here it is.
What's a little bit frustrating is a fact that you cannot completely uninstall Facebook from most of your newer smartphones anymore. You can disable it restore to factory settings make it so doesn't show in the system tray, but you can't get it completely removed from the phone.
I still need to use it to promote hankonfood.com when there's a new post. However, I found myself getting sucked back in after 4 days of managing to minimize and push away. Like a small spaceship Caught In the Event Horizon of a black hole. Zuckerberg makes you a Suckerberg I guess.
Well I'm doing better than I was when I wrote the post about Anthony Bourdain over at Hank on food, I know how easy it is to get sucked back in. I don't need that kind of a negative mental feedback loop. I don't need that kind of negative emotional feedback loop. Trying to break this pattern is not easy. Especially because my side Hustle requires the use of social media to promote it and to remain relevant.
I know a lot of people say they wish they could put the genie back in the bottle when it comes to the internet, social media and so on. But the thing is businesses and people that choose to be luddites end up becoming disconnected. The irony is despite all the communication methods we have, most people complain they feel more disconnected from their community and their friends and their family than ever.
I'm just rambling here. I don't have any eloquent or erudite Solutions here. I'm just thinking out loud. I want to get to the point where I can post photos and stuff on Instagram on an ongoing basis, stay in touch with friends and colleagues via Facebook, and not getting into this Mondo competitive obsessive line of thought
